Luisa Ortega

Luisa graduated from the University of Nevada Reno with a B.S. degree in Environmental Science with an emphasis on Ecological Restoration and Conservation. She has worked on research exploring citizen science methods toward monitoring microplastic pollution in Lake Tahoe and spent a summer monitoring limnological data in northern California.

She is interested in community and educational outreach that contributes to better understanding of sustainable lifestyle practices that lead to a healthy environment and community. On her spare time, Luisa enjoys going on road trips, exploring lake ecosystems, and baking.
