Carson City Green Dining

Since 2019, fourteen restaurants across Carson City joined the newly formed Green Dining District pilot program. By participating in focus groups and trainings, these restaurants were able to come together to discuss common challenges and opportunities for enhancing the sustainability of their operations.

Restaurant owners and staff participated in waste audits, learned about resources available to reduce both front-of-house and back-of-house waste, and were able to achieve cost savings by ultimately reducing the amount of waste sent to the landfill.
